Silversprings Guest House is located on an original homesteading location in Alta, Wyoming, a small community located in the western foothills of the Teton Mountain Range. Although Alta is a part of Teton County, Wyoming, Alta is only accessed by driving through Teton County, Idaho. Silversprings has incredible views of the Grand, Middle and South Teton Peaks. We are an hour away from Jackson Hole, Wyoming, and a beautiful ninety minute drive from Idaho Falls, Idaho. Driggs, Idaho is the nearest town, six miles from Alta, and this is the closest town to buy groceries, go out for lunch, or launch your fishing boat on one of the many public accesses to the Teton River, one of the "hidden gems' of the west. Fly fish on the Teton River, or take a forty minute drive to the west over Pine Creek Pass to the South Fork of the Snake River, or drive forty minutes north to the Henry's Fork of the Snake River, near Ashton, Idaho. Fishing, mountain bike riding, hiking, paragliding, ballooning are all available activities for the summer visitor. From Driggs, it is a ninety minute drive to the West Entrance of Yellowstone National Park, or drive over to Jackson and up to Yellostone National Park through Grand Teton National Park. Music on Main is going on every Thursday night in the Victor, Idaho city park through August 11th, next week it is Lucas Nelson and the Promise of the Real (Lucas is Willy Nelson's son). Free music, with food and drink provided on sight. Grand Targhee Ski and Summer Resort has scheduled their 27th annual Bluegrass Festival for August 15th with many great performers scheduled for their three day festival. They also are running their chair lift in the summer, fantastic views of the Grand Tetons from the top of the mountain! Just over the hill in Jackson Hole, Wyoming they offer many tourist attractions, including the Grand Teton Music Festival, classical music at Walk Festival Hall in Teton Village, Wyoming. Their is also one of the last great drive-in theaters, The Spud Drive-In, located between Driggs, Idaho and Victor, Idaho, and one in-door theater in Victor, Idaho. Stop in the Victor Emporium for a famous huckleberry shake, open year round in Victor, Idaho! Summer in Teton Valley has been awesome, warm days and cool nights!
Silversprings was the name of the original homestead, now it is a part of the Teton Hideaway subdivision, with only three other homes built on the forty acre parcel. The present owners have lived here since 1988, and in the course of these 24 years, have completely remodeled the original farm house, and added on a 2000 square foot addtion with large family room, three bedrooms, solarium, and library. There is also an adjoining 900 sq.ft. guest cabin, with a large master suite, two bathrooms, and a complete kitchen/living area. Amenities include a wood fireplace, wood stove, hot tub with Teton Views, entertainment center in family room, piano, library, sledding hill!
